Background and goals
Recent initiatives to expand access to antiretroviral therapy in the countries hardest hit by the AIDS pandemic have dramatically increased the demand for clinicians trained in HIV/AIDS care. Programs such as the [U.S.] President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, the World Health Organization's 3 by 5 Initative, projects funded through the Global Fund To Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and numerous regional and local initiatives are both sources and consumers of training and program management materials.
I-TECH has developed this resource with support from the HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau and the CDC Global AIDS Program to provide program planners and trainers an efficient way to find clinical training materials for use in resource-limited settings. The content and organization of the database is informed by our own experience working in Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean helping to build local capacity for clinical training and care. We include materials from over 300 organizations around the world; while English is the predominant language of these materials, over a dozen other languages are represented.
How the database is organized
The database is organized so you can browse by category, or do a full text search. All information is categorized by technical area (topic), type of resource, format, language, country and/or region, target audience, and source organization.
