07/2009 DescriptionThe objective of the Nurse's Infection Control Education (NICE) Training Program is to provide basic information on infection control to nurses/health care workers in India so that they can take precautions against occupational exposures while treating the patients who are infected with HIV and also educate patients/attendants regarding taking precautions to avoid infections. This course is designed to take 4.5 days of interactive classroom training and .5 day of Action Planning and wrap up. The curriculum includes 9 units covering: Basic Concepts of Tuberculosis (TB), General Waste Management, Management of Hospital Equipments, Management of Body Fluids, Blood Borne Pathogens & Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), Safe Invasive Procedures, Staff Education and Supervision, and Action Plan.
