National Training on TB/HIV for Healthcare WorkersDate:
05/2009 DescriptionThe aim of this training course is to provide basic information on clinical management of tuberculosis and HIV to healthcare workers in Tanzania so that they can provide quality care to their patients. The course is designed to take 6 days, which includes 5.5 days of highly interactive classroom training, as well as a half day practicum during which participants visit a TB clinic. The curriculum includes 23 units covering TB and HIV transmission, diagnosis, and treatment; TB/HIV interaction and the management of TB/HIV co-infected patients; collaborative TB/HIV activities, and more. Each unit includes a facilitator guide, a text-based participant manual, a course workbook, and a slide set.
