02/2007 Description
This series of video cases was designed as a training tool to help clinicians recognize and correctly diagnose HIV opportunistic infections. Each case includes three parts: a patient's history, a physical examination and a follow-up session defining differential diagnoses and appropriate lab investigations. Although treatment issues are not addressed in the videos, the Facilitator's Guide contains additional discussion questions and answers on treatment issues for the OIs presented. This case addresses cough, breathlessness, fever and sputum in a female Indian patient with HIV. Please refer to the facilitator's guide and the introduction video for further information on the setting and regarding the use of these cases for clinical training on opportunistic infections.
