Opportunistic Infection Video Cases and Facilitator's Guide

Description

This series of videos featuring real cases was filmed at the Government Hospital of Thoracic Medicine at Tambaram Hospital in Chennai, India. It is designed to assist clinicians in recognizing and correctly diagnosing opportunistic infections associated with HIV. Viewers are challenged to assess the on-screen patient history, chief complaint, and physical examination, and to reach conclusions about potential differential diagnoses and appropriate lab investigations. Each case is comprised of 3 parts: the patient's history and chief complaints, a physical exam demonstration, and a description of further testing and investigations. An accompanying facilitator's guide containing individual discussion points for each video case is designed to guide participants to critically discuss and reflect upon each case.
